The HDMI Forum Announces Ultra High Speed HDMI® Cable Certification Required from HDMI Forum Authorized Test Centers Only. Also, Ultra High Speed HDMI Certification Labels Are Required for All Cable Packages.
The HDMI Forum announced that their upcoming release of the HDMI 2.1 Compliance Test Specification (CTS) version 2.1 for Category 3 Cables requires that cables must pass certification only by an HDMI Forum Authorized Test Center (ATC) and that every length of every model line must be certified.
Additionally, after passing all certification testing, cables must be registered with the Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable Certification Program and must include an Ultra High Speed HDMI Certification Label affixed to each package. After passing all certification testing at an ATC required by the CTS, cables can be registered into the program and HDMI Adopters can order the new labels.
A cable can claim compliance to the HDMI 2.1 Specification and use the Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable designation only if it obtains ATC certification and displays the Ultra High Speed HDMI Certification Label on its packaging.
